But our group is popular and you may have to wait longer than a term for a space to become available.
Please consider volunteering to make spaces available to more children, including yours, more quickly.

How does the waiting list work?
We process the waiting list shortly before the beginning of each school term, which is when existing members move on and free up spaces. But our group is popular and you may have to wait longer than a term for a space to become available.
People aften ask how long it might be before they’re offered a space, but it’s hard to calculate.
Each term we give priority to young people:
- Who are already part of the 2nd Ickenham Scout Group, for example a Beaver moving up to Cubs.
- Whose parents/carers become regular helpers. This could be in your child’s section, or in another age group, as you prefer.
- Who don’t already belong to another Scout group.
Spaces are then offered to the wider waiting list, based on the child’s age as well as time on the list.
Our ability to offer places in Beavers, Cubs and Scouts is severely limited by the number of regular adult helpers we have. Please consider volunteering!
