We have plenty of spaces for Scouts and Cubs. There is a waiting list for Squirrels and Beavers.
Your details will be added to the waiting list on Online Scout Manager (the tool we use to manage our membership).
For all sections we’ll contact you as soon as a space becomes available.
We try to look at new registrations every week but we’re all volunteers with work and families of our own. Mostly, we do a massive exercise at the end of each term to work out who’s moving up and how many spaces that creates in the lower sections.
We will be in touch as soon as we have something to offer you, either at the end of term, or before.

Sections with a waiting list
We process the waiting list shortly before the beginning of each school term, which is when existing members move on and free up spaces.
Our group is popular and you may have to wait longer than a term for a space to become available. It’s very hard to calculate how long you might have to wait.
Each term we give priority to young people:
- Whose parents/carers become regular helpers, in their child’s section or any other section.
- Who are already part of the 2nd Ickenham Scout Group, for example a Squirrel moving up to Beavers, or a Beaver moving up to Cubs.
- Who don’t already belong to another Scout group.
Spaces are then offered to the wider waiting list, based on the child’s age as well as time on the list.
Our ability to offer places in Squirrels, Beavers, Cubs and Scouts is severely limited by the number of regular adult helpers we have. Please consider volunteering!
